How should I take Ciloxan?
How to use eye drops:
Be sure to wash your hands with soap and water. During the instillation it is important not to touch the bottle tip to the eyelids, eyelashes and foreign objects.
It is best to lie down on your back and look up.
Do not lift the bottle very high. Hold it at a distance of 3 cm the eye.
Lower eyelid should be carefully pulled down with the fingers.
Roll the eyes up, so the drop from the bottle would fall into the space between the eyeball and the lower eyelid.
While instilling the droplets into your eyes make sure that the bottle isn’t touching the eye surface.
After that you need to close your eyes and press your index finger to the area of the inner corner of the eye for a few minutes. It is desirable to be in a state of rest: it will significantly reduce the risk of adverse events.
Do not squeeze the eyelids after the instillation (otherwise the medicine could "squeeze-out") calmly close your eyes for 2 - 3 minutes.
If the ophthalmologist has appointed treatment of both eyes repeat the procedure.
For a few minutes gently massage the inner corner of the eye to enhance the effects of the drug.
Suppose you need to apply two or more different types of droplets, the interval between their installations should be at least 10 minutes. This is due to the fact that if you use the second medication half a minute after the first one its effect would be reduced by almost a half. If you dripped a lot of droplets, blot them with a tissue or a cotton ball from the outside corner to the inner. If you need to use the ointment for the eyes is best to use it in the last turn.
How to drip drops in the ears:
Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water.
Carefully clean the ear with a damp soft cloth. This is necessary to clean the ear canal of sulfur; otherwise it will close the hearing clearance. You can also use cotton buds. But do not put them too deep, it may damage the eardrum.
Hold a bottle of medicine in a hand for a few minutes to warm it up to the body temperature.
Shake the bottle for 10 seconds.
Check the tip of the dropper to make sure that there are no chips or cracks.
Lean or lie down on the side so that the affected ear is at the top. Pull the ear up and back (for children under 3 years old - back and down) to open the ear canal.
Drip the desired number of drops into the ear. Gently press on the tragus (the part on the ear, in front of the openings of the outer ear canal) so the drops fall into the ear canal.
Hold your head tilted, or stay in position on the side for a few minutes or insert a cotton swab into the ear.
Close the vial with the cap at once.
Wash your hands after instillation.
